3-Day Tambopata Amazon Tour with lodge stay and wildlife activities
Three days in the rainforest with a lodge stay and guided wildlife observation.

Overview — 3-Day Tambopata Amazon Tour

The 3-Day Tambopata Amazon Tour combines river wildlife navigation, an oxbow-lake exploration and guided forest walks while you stay in a comfortable jungle lodge. It’s built around peak activity windows: a Tambopata River sunset cruise, calm mornings and a dawn visit to a parrot & parakeet clay lick. You’ll also enjoy Lake Sandoval, famous for silent canoe routes and rich biodiversity. Small groups and local guides keep the pace focused on observation, photography and safety. Times may adjust with season, weather and river levels.

Highlights — What You’ll See

  • River wildlife at sunset (herons, kingfishers, turtles; chance of capybaras)
  • Night boat search for caimans along riverbanks
  • Lake Sandoval canoe exploration (giant river otters when conditions allow, hoatzins, black caimans)
  • Dawn parrot & parakeet clay lick with mineral-rich feeding behavior
  • Guided night walk for nocturnal insects, frogs and tarantulas

Itinerary — 3-Day Tambopata Amazon Tour

Day 1 — Arrival, Check-in & Sunset Cruise

Meet your guide at arrival and transfer to the lodge. After check-in and lunch, rest before the late-afternoon river activity. Tambopata River Sunset Cruise: Motorized canoe navigation as the rainforest turns golden. Scan shores for turtles, herons and kingfishers, with a chance of capybaras. Quiet pace for observation and photos. Night Caiman Search: After dark, use flashlights to locate eyeshine along the river edges. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2 — Lake Sandoval Exploration & Night Walk (Tambopata 3-Day Tour)

After breakfast, head to the Lake Sandoval sector. A forest trail leads to the canoe station for silent paddling on the oxbow lake. Lake Sandoval Canoeing: Silent navigation increases the chance to spot hoatzins, black caimans and, with luck, giant river otters. Birdlife is often active along calm edges. Return for lunch and rest. Guided Night Walk: Explore forest trails to observe nocturnal wildlife such as frogs, insects and tarantulas.

Day 3 — Dawn Parrot Clay Lick & Departure

Before sunrise, navigate to a nearby parrot & parakeet clay lick. Birds gather to feed on mineral-rich clay—an intense early-morning scene for observation and photography. Return for breakfast, check-out and transfer to your flight or bus. End of services.
